Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor, Maine is where the old summer families went to rough it comfortably, and the carriage roads they built through what became Acadia National Park are still open to anyone with a bicycle or good shoes. July and August bring the crowds along with the fine weather, while September offers the same granite coast and lobster boats with cooler air and more room on the trails.
